My record of the year, even though it came out in 1983. Lifetones was a one-off solo project by This Heat guitarist Charles Bullen, but where This Heat was mired in fear and paranoia For a Reason is all light-vibes and life-affirmation. Six tracks of hypnotic Afro-guitar riffs over heavy dub rhythms and vocal harmonies. Deep! I'm really baffled as to why the hook on "Good Side" hasn't been sampled into a thousand hiphop songs by now.Pretty sure the MP3s are still posted over on this blog. "Good Side" and "For a Reason" are also posted over on Waxidermy.
